Camerawork and editing analysis

1) Three camera shots:

At 1:24 there is a medium close up shot of the prime minister who leads the mission to contact the Doctor. This allows the audience to see the leadership and determination in her face. The fact that shes at her very British looking house shows she also lives a normal life.

At 2:18 the over the shoulder shot shows that they are a team and all of them are gonna work together to complete and save their world. The audience can be told that they have respect and need the doctor to save their world.

At 2:33 there is a couple judgeing the prime minister and this is a two shot medium close up. The audience can tell thast they are juding the prime mkinister and itr gives humour as they look disgusted.

2) Pick one camera angle that is used in the scene and explain the effect it has on the audience:

At 3:29 there is a high angle is used. The effect of this is that it shows all of the circular rays meaning the audience have hope that they can contact the doctor and save the world. Also,the fact that its working is showing the machine is powerful.

3) Pick one aspect of camera movement in the clip. Identify the type of camera movement and write about why the director chose to use that camera movement in the scene and what effect it has on the audience.

At 2:44 there is a pan shot. The director used that camera movement because it shows the fast pace of  the teams hard work to save the doctor. The effect on the audience is that they know something happening in every corner of there work station therefore showing a lot of work is going into saving the world.

4) Pick one aspect of editing in the clip and write about what it tells the audience.

The last 45 seconds are really fast pace the director used this to show the quick movement of the team trying to get everything on time. The effect on the audience is that they have a build of tension for contemplating whether is will work or not.
