3) Did you get any media terminology wrong in the assessment? If yes, make a note of it here for future revision:
Consumer: a consumer is a group or individual who takes in information from a media product.
Target Audience: A specific demographic that the media product is aimed at.
4) Identify one of your stronger questions. Why did you do better on this question?
I think my strongest question was Q6 because i had listed the conventions. I did this question better because i knew the conventions of a film poster.
5) Identify one of your weaker questions. Why did you score lower on this particular question?
I think my weakest question was Q9 because i had only achieved 4/8 marks. I did lower on this question as had only done one paragraph and hadn't used an example.
6) Re-draft your answer to Q9 and type it out in full. Use the mark scheme to identify anticipated content you can add to your response and make sure your typed re-draft is a top-level answer of at least two detailed paragraphs.
Charities use children in their advertising to get the audience to sympathise and try to understand what they must go through or what they would feel. The water aid advert uses a child with dirty clothing and a sad, upsetting facial expression which could get the audience to feel pity for the child and donate to the charity. Also, the children are connoted as pure, innocent whereas adults are more independent and hardworking. In the water aid ad the background shows the poverty and that could take the audience to see in the child feet and could then donate.
Charities such as UNICEF also use children. The blue in there can connote the sadness that children can go through as they don't have money or clean clothes, food and water. The children can also connote hope and the logo the child is the middle of the world connatimg that there is still hope in the world.
