End of Year 1 exam learner response'

1) Type up your feedback in full (you do not need to write mark/grade if you do not wish to).

WWW: This is a impressive exam with clear potential to go even higher. Keep up the good work.

EBI: Slightly more depth and questions focus required for 1.2 and 1.3.

-Q2 starts brilliantly but Doctor Who is little weaker than class. Try and get media terminology into your answer and detailed examples from the CSPs.

2) Question 1.1 asked you what intertextuality is. Write out the definition of intertextuality - you may need to look it up in your glossary or Media book if you're not sure. You can also find an answer using the mark scheme - you'll need your Greenford Google login to access this.
Intertextuality is when media texts refer to other media texts or to
aspects of popular culture to help the text convey meaning or interest
and engage the audience

3) Look at your answers for 1.2 and 1.3. Did you ONLY write about the clip shown in the exam? How can you improve your answers in these questions?
No i wrote about other part of the episode. I can improve this by only writing about the clip presented in the test.

4) Look at your answer for question 2 - the 20-mark essay. Did you write about BOTH Doctor Who and Class and give examples from both CSP episodes we have studied? How could you improve your answer here?
I wrote about both CSPs and i could  talk about my points thoroughly and use context to back up my point.

5) Are you happy with your End of Year 1 exam result?
Yes but i could do better.

6) What will you do differently for the next set of mock exams in November/December?
Revise Media terminology.

7) Write THREE things you need to revise or practice before your next TV assessment (e.g. notetaking, CSPs, media theories, terminology etc.)
Terminology
Note-taking
Media Theory

8) What final overall grade do you hope to achieve in GCSE Media Studies this time next year?

7,8 or 9 hopefully.
