Statement Of Intent

Introduction: I plan to make a two-minute clip of the ending of the first episode. The narrative of the show Replica is Aisha goes missing but someone’s already in her shoes and have made her parents believe that she’s, their daughter. Then she meets a guy who believes her, but does he have good intentions?

Language and Representation: I plan to meet the brief by having variety of camera angles such as: wide shots to shows the setting and a close up for the show of emotion. The two locations will be a dark alleyway filled with plants and overbearing trees to create an eerie atmosphere and the other location will be outside a police station foreshadowing the disappearance of one of the characters. Also, i’ll have non-diegetic sound in the background getting louder so that the audience will know that there is something revealed or shocking. A male main lead is stereotypically a hero for the damsel in distress but my character Jay subverts this as he is seen to be more of a morally grey. The lighting for my show will be very dark as it conveys the message of something bad happening.The shows editing is going to be fast pace this reflects the overwhelming pressure of the characters.

Audience: The target audience will be for older audience is their late teens and young adults. This show will appeal more to working class as they will feel a sense of personal identity in the character as the audience could have similar style and sense of living situation. And feel personal relationships as the two protagonists have a relationship as siblings which many people could experience. The audience could feel visceral pleasure as they would relate to the characters on a personal level. Other tv shows my target audience will like are Shadow hunter’s and girl from nowhere as the shows are quite similar too Replica.
