Statement of Intent: Feedback and learner response

1) Read your feedback carefully and then write a summary of it in your own words using WWW / EBI.

WWW: There is some brilliant planning here – I really like the concept for the show and it meets the brief perfectly. You’ve clearly planned elements of the technical production (e.g. camerawork and sound) plus the section on audience is a real strength. If you can reach that level across all key concepts this will be pushing for the top level.

EBI: Try and add a little depth and detail to your media language planning – perhaps link elements of your shots or setting to the brief, the genre or how it will appeal to the target audience. The key element is to clearly show you have thought about how you are creating meanings for the audience.
You have one potentially very interesting sentence on representation but then nothing more. Perhaps expand this into its own paragraph and discuss representations in more detail.
Make sure written English is perfect e.g. capital letters for the name of other TV dramas etc.

2) Do you need to make any changes to your narrative? Why?
NO!

3) How can you improve the use of media terminology in your Statement of Intent?
Try and add a little depth and detail to your media language planning

4) Representation and stereotyping was a weakness in some drafts. How will you address the key concept of representation in your next draft?
By emphasising representation of a diverse cast.

5) Finally, think about audience. Why would the target audience (teenagers and young adults) enjoy your TV drama concept?
Target audiences would enjoy my show as they feel a sense of personal identity causing them to find the show more relatable.
